Kevin Dwayne Selders
Kevin Dwayne Selders was born June 13, 1980 in Pulaski County, AR to the late Frank Lewis Selders and Mrs. Karen S. Kelley-Selders. He departed his earthly vessel August 21, 2023 at the age of 43.
Faith was instilled in him through his family very early on. Growing up, Kevin attended Deliverance Temple Church of God in Christ, in North Little Rock, AR, under the leadership of his late uncle, Ronald E. Kelley. It was here that Kevin found a love for playing the drums. He later moved to Nashville, AR and became a member of his grandmother’s church, Williams Memorial Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of the late Supt. Mickey D. Lofton. While residing in Conway, Kevin often visited churches where he had personal relationships with the Pastor.
Kevin developed a solid work ethic at a very young age. Nashville is where he landed his first job at the local grocery store and soon purchased his first car at only 14 years old. He graduated from Nashville High School with the class of 1998. The following fall he attended Philander Smith College.
Kevin met the love of his life, RoShetta, over 21 years ago in Conway, AR. He announced to his family that he had met “the one.” Not only smitten by his future wife, Kevin accepted the responsibility of being a present father to four bonus children as well. Kevin and RoShetta officially wed on June 19, 2011. To this union, one son was born.
Determined to add proper credentials to his name, Kevin returned to the classroom and obtained an Associate’s of Applied Science degree from Pulaski Technical College in 2005. He then completed his certification in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration to become a licensed HVACR Contractor.
Kevin worked for many major HVAC companies locally as well as being a part of many of his father’s entrepreneurial ventures. He was determined to add business ownership to his resume. This led him to launch his own company using his surname; Selders Heat & Air was founded in 2010. He was the sole owner and operator of a successful business that grew exponentially over the years. This major accomplishment by a young black man propelled Kevin to service over 10, 000 customers in the Central Arkansas area alone, as well as the surrounding areas of TX, OK, TN and LA. He even talked himself into a job while vacationing in Las Vegas. Kevin prided himself on mentoring young and upcoming HVAC industry technicians, and even trained his son(s) to carry on the work.
Kevin is preceded in death by his grandmother, Zettie M. Brooks, his father, Franklin Lewis Selders III, and niece, Arionna Queen Rose Kelley .
